Another Junior Developer has joined the CaseBlocks team! Join us as we get to know more about Darren and what he’s been up to.

It’s time for our next big announcement…another Junior Developer has joined the team!

After joining the team a few weeks ago, it’s about time we get to know Darren a bit more and find out what he’s been getting up to.

CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

My name is Darren and I’m 23. I graduated from university last June with a degree in Web and Mobile Development, and have been working in the Utility industry for the last year on a wide range of IT related projects.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT?

I’ve always been interested in computers and when I was looking for university courses I decided to try web development and have stuck with it ever since. It’s been fun creating almost anything you can imagine from nothing!

HOW DID YOU FIND US AND WHY DID YOU WANT TO JOIN THE CASEBLOCKS TEAM?

I found out about EmergeAdapt and CaseBlocks through a job advertisement on LinkedIn and saw that the technology stack is what I am most interested in so I thought it was a perfect match! I also liked the idea of being part of a growing team and getting the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of the development lifecycle of software and projects.

SO HOW WERE YOUR FIRST FEW WEEKS?

I have learned a lot already and hope to keep it up! I’ve enjoyed seeing how a software development team works together to create a project. Also, the team are great and are all very enthusiastic and willing to help with anything.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?

I started off just trying to get used to developing on a Mac the first few days! After I got the hang of that, I started looking at Caseblocks and learning how it works and all of its features. I’ve already started getting involved with some exciting projects!

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT BEING PART OF THE CASEBLOCKS TEAM?

I’m really looking forward to gaining more experience with new technologies and getting involved in some upcoming projects. This is a great opportunity for me to learn from the rest of the development team who all have a wide range of experience and skills.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO NEW PEOPLE JOINING THE TEAM?

Everyone on the team is very helpful and will listen to any ideas that you have for both our projects and the company so just try to get involved as much as you can.

WHEN YOU’RE NOT BEHIND A LAPTOP, WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Outside of programming, I love Sci-Fi, playing games, and I watch almost every movie and Tv series. I also do Muay Thai in my free time and will be looking to compete at some point in the future!
